As is generally known, fireworks are a divisive issue. In view of climate protection, waste problems, and fine dust and noise pollution, there is hardly anything positive to be said for fireworks.
Remedy could Not only impressing, in addition still pollution free. A whopping 30,000 environmentally friendly fireworks light up the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok.
INCOSIAM, a facility on the banks of the river “Chao Phraya” that includes one of the largest shopping malls in Asia, collaborated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand as well as the Thai government, other private organizations and hotel managers along the “Chao Phraya”.
Together, they facilitated the event “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2023”, a countdown to the New Year 2023 to celebrate it in a befitting manner.
This New Year celebration was the first major celebration in Bangkok since the COVID-19 crisis. Since then, the “Chao Phraya” has been considered a destination for global countdown and a symbol of New Year celebrations in Thailand.
Sustainability and action combined
Entertainment was also provided at the climate-friendly event – several world-renowned leading Thai artists were present, led by K-Pop artist Mark Tuan from the boy group “GOT7”.
Sticky Rice: Fireworks made of rice?
The highlight of the event was clearly the 30,000 fireworks made from traditional Thai “Sticky Rice” that lit up the sky for millions of people to see within a five kilometer radius.
In addition, the event was the first to use the innovative technology Augmented Reality (AR), which made the view of the audience look even more impressive through the so-called “ONESIAM SuperApp”. Thus, earned the title of first “Hybrid World Countdown”.
