Go! With the desk pushed forward, it can also be a bit more sporty on the one from Acer.
Office workers tend to lack movement. And electricity is also becoming more and more expensive. How do you reconcile the two? Acer has thought about New Work.
Take an exercise bike and bolt a desk to it. Following this recipe, Acer has developed a bike desk called Acer E-Kinekt. The concept is not just about staying in motion at work or during breaks. As a highlight, the E-Kinekt generates electricity from the pedaling force. It can then be used to charge notebooks, smartphones and other devices via a USB Type-C port and two USB Type-A ports, with a total of up to 75 watts.
Training progress at work
An LCD display integrated into the desk and a smartphone app provide information on training progress and show pedaling duration, electrical power generated and calories burned.
Pedaling resistance, seat height and the desk height are individually adjustable. For a more athletic pedaling position, the desk can be pushed forward to reveal grab handles.
The “eKinekt Bike Desk BD 3,” as it is fully called, is expected to hit the market in June for 1000 euros.
