US tech giant Apple today unveiled its latest processor generations M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max in Silicon Valley – three chips with innovative technologies that are designed to deliver significantly higher performance and new features for the Mac and, according to the company, are also particularly energy-efficient.
“Apple chips have redefined the Mac experience. Every aspect of its architecture is designed for performance and energy efficiency,” said Johny Srouji, Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies at Apple at the launch event in California.
“With 3 nanometre technology, a next-generation GPU architecture, a more powerful CPU, a faster neural engine and support for even more shared memory, the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max are the most advanced chips ever built for a personal computer.”
MacBook Pro battery to last up to 22 hours
According to the US manufacturer with the apple logo, the energy-efficient performance of the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max helps the new MacBook Pro and the new iMac to fulfil Apple’s highest energy efficiency standards.
The new MacBook Pro is also said to achieve the longest battery life ever in a Mac – up to 22 hours. This means it needs to be plugged in less and consumes less energy over the course of its life cycle.
