Well, if that doesn’t pop the champagne corks at Nordex today – the German Greentech-Specialist and wind farm has won a major contract for a Canadian wind farm. Chapeau.
Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has been awarded the contract to supply the turbines for the Canadian wind farm  «Forty Mile» in the province of Alberta.
The order comprises 49 turbines with a capacity of 5.7 megawatts each, as the company announced in Hamburg on Tuesday. With a total capacity of almost 280 megawatts, this will be the largest wind farm in North America for Acciona Energia, which belongs to the Spanish Nordex Grouper Acconia, it said. It is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2025.

Greentech Nordex

Nordex had recently been expecting stronger new business in the second half of the year after taking in fewer orders in the first half.

In this context, the wind turbine manufacturer had primarily referred to higher demand to be expected from North America.

Greentech Business: Average sales price €0.89 million per megawatt

In the first half of the year, Nordex achieved an average selling price of EUR 0.89 million per megawatt.

The industry is currently suffering from supply chain problems and increased costs, which makes contracts already signed unprofitable if renegotiations are not possible.
