Under the motto “Tomorrow’s mobility”, eight Fraunhofer units will be presenting their know-how as well as their concepts and solutions for the mobility of the future at the IAA Summit in Munich from 5 to 8 September 2023.
Greentech Solar Cars: Vehicle-integrated photovoltaics make it possible to connect commercial grade PV modules safely and efficiently.
Solar modules integrated into the roof and bonnet can supply more energy than the on-board electronics consume. The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg is researching and developing particularly lightweight, robust and aesthetic module structures, but also power electronics components.
With this, commercially available PV modules can be safely and efficiently connected to form a high-voltage string and the electricity used for drive energy or, in the case of trucks, for cooling units.
